Day Job
It takes you a few days- with Wilbur's help- to distribute what needs to be distributed from the surplus loot- each group had items that they weren't going to part with, but that still left a veritable treasure trove that needed handing out. Aboveboard, you give some of the more valuable supplies to your allies, specifically the EPA and NOAAA. Both laboratories, biotechnology samples, psytechnology documentation, some other things- some of it will probably be sold or traded away to finance the organizations operations- providing them a much needed source of funding that didn't require moral compromise to earn. Other items will probably be used for specialized research and development projects- in either case it gets you a little closer to your overall goals of having the region be a little less uninhabitable…
…Hopefully. In truth, in the nights while you sort things out, you keep having more and more nightmares. A handful of concepts keeps cropping up in these dreams: atmokinetics. Weather weaponization. Storm-Witches. In the days after your journey ends, some of these terms come up in the NOAA chatter you have access to.
You knew it would happen, but it's no less dispiriting to see it happen. You don't have any easy ways to spy on the EPA, so details on what they intend to research and develop are sparse- other than that they intend to perform some form of biotech research.
"Heimdinger, I want an update on Project Chimera."
"It's…proceeding. We've managed to reduce implant rejection rates below 10%, at least. Neural degeneration is still a problem, but-"
"Unacceptable. We're on a time-table, Heidigger. The bombs could drop any week now- and if that happens before we can roll out Chimera, millions will die, Alphonso. You've seen the data: a century of heavy irradiation, heavy metals seeping into the soil, toxic chemicals in the air. Unless we put an envirosuit in every closet and a bunker in every house, that isn't something that can be survived."
"I know, Director, but this isn't something we can wave a wand and rush- we aren't the DoP, we don't have the resources to work as fast as Warney, not without making compromises-"
"Then compromise. I've been talking with the Department of Corrections- in a few weeks, you're going to receive additional test subjects. Use them."
"I- you're asking me to recklessly rush human testing, Director! The test subjects-"
"-Are expendable as a result of their decision to violate the law during war time. Don't go mushy on me, Heidigger- these people aren't innocent, and they would have died anyways when the bombs fell. At least this way they'll actually be useful first."
The EPA has gained the following stats:
+1 Biotech Proliferation
+1 Experimental Chems Proliferation
+1 Research Value
The woman sat in the middle of a tempest, eyes glazed over as she giggled at the sight of the New Alcatrazians running in terror below her. "Zap, Zap," She said, calling down bolts of lightning from the storm covering the island, extracting joy from each ghoul she fried.
For years, she had been stuck working as the islands resident storm-witch, sold by her parents for a ships worth of clean water- constantly forced to strain her powers to keep the islands climate pleasant and blow away the rads, when she wasn't forced to pacify trade routes. And when she wasn't forced to work the weather, her owner, a now dead wrecker-merchant had forced her into a much more unpleasant form of work in his flesh house.
She had made sure to destroy that place- lifting it into the sky with a tornado and slamming it down again.
Behind her, she heard a click- a noise the woman recognized as the sound of a gun cocking. "Stop," Came a hoarse voice. "Stop, or I blow your brains out."
"Do it," The woman seethed, full of hatred, vaguely recognizing the voice. "I'm not going to stop- not until every last bastard on this island is dead."
"You've already killed the person who was responsible for what happened to you," The figure holding her at gunpoint pleaded. "Please, see reason: the people you're murdering have done nothing wrong!"
The woman laughed. "Nothing wrong? Nothing WRONG? Wrong!" She snarled, wind picking up around her, the same dark force that had been augmenting her powers surging with her anger. "Each and every one of them knew what was going on in the House of Flesh," The woman bit out. "Each and every one of them knew what I was suffering, and each and every one of them benefitted from my powers. And yet. They let. It happen. So I'm not going to stop- not until I destroy this entire godDAMN ISLAND AND EVERY BASTARD ON I-"
There was a bang, and the woman slumped forward, falling off the building. The Neurospecialist sighed, holstering their weapon. Another rogue Maladapt- destroyed.

You also make sure to reward the Army and Navy- not because you want to, but because you aren't ready to openly contest them and you don't trust Clancy to have your back unless she benefited from it. Various weapons, some ultracite, some fuel, some pharmaceutical documentation- you attempt to give them the bare minimum which could be used to advance the war effort.
They won't be satisfied- they won't be remotely satisfied, you don't need to be psychic to tell, the relative value of the material you gave them was, ultimately, chump change compared to what you handed out to your other allies. But they wouldn't be angry enough to cause you a headache, at least. And considering you made sure to give plenty to Project Ogata, they wouldn't be able to claim you were shorting the war effort, at least- you don't like the organization, but Chase was the public golden boy. The prime motivation for that was largely funding, though- your operations going forward were going to be pretty pricey and you didn't have nearly a big enough wallet to get by, otherwise.
In the weeks after your journey, the ultracite you handed them would be shipped to DC- part of some classified weapons development project in collaboration with DARPA. Your dreams there are worse.
Edgar, baby- LOVE what you're doing right now with the superpowers. Not exactly so hot on the big galoot you let loose down here, though, that weird shadow. I know it's technically just another version of you, but man, talk about a buzzkill! Guy won't laugh at any of my jokes- the only zingers I get a reaction from are when I do a routine about that other giant asshole you let loose stepping on the Navy.
Speaking of, the other day I was in ACME city, looking for Harv- you remember Harv, right? Big, hairy, quiet, went missing a few years after I died? Anyways, I was in ACME City, down by the docks, when I passed by, I shit you not, a giant asshole stomping on some ants. "Now, why you doing that?" I asked the guy.
"These assholes won't leave me alone!" He cried as he crushed seven at once. "First they woke me up, now they keep trying to pick a fight and stinging me! I can't go a month without getting bit by ants, and I'm sick of it! I'm going to step on every one of these bastards, then I'm going to stomp on their nest!"
Now, we all know how that woulda ended: you don't kick an ants nest to get rid of it, that just gets you stung by more ants. I told the guy, and he raised his arms to the sky. "Alright, smart guy! How would you get rid of them?"
Now, we all know there are a few ways to get rid of ants: you can drown em, you can poison em, you can burn em-
"Burn em? I can do that, easy peasy!" The man said, before opening his mouth, aiming it at the ants nest, and proceeding to fry ACME City with their atomic breath, incinerating half the people in the city in a blaze of nuclear glory. Personally, I think it was a bit overkill- if it was me, I woulda just took a piss on em and called it a day.

[Spoiler: Dark Fate: The Boot of Liberty]
Dead. They're all dead. If you're reading this message, I'm probably dead as well.
My name is Private -. My division was stationed in the town of - the ruins this record will likely be found in. We had just been rotated from the front, having fought for months against the Americans- we were to get a weeks rest and medical care to ensure we were fit to return to the front.
Before the war, - had been a simple farming village- one of many that exist quietly, far away enough from the front that you can barely hear the artillery cannons firing. For many of us, the village was seen as paradise compared to the noise and chaos of the front for the few days we were allowed to sleep and recover.
Two days ago, two days before we were to return to the front, the Americans dropped a weapon on -. At first, we had thought it was a bomb- the americans had occasionally bombed villages in the region. As protocol, our captain had attempted to evacuate the town- even as a wave of dust from the apartment complex that the americans had just terminated began to choke the air. To get above it, he tried to climb on top of his tank- yelling at the crowd to start moving and for his men to start doing their duty. He was a good man- bit of an asshole, sometimes, but of the men and women I've served under, - was one of the better ones.
He was vaporized by a red beam. Out of the dust came a shape- a giant robot, bigger than anything I have ever seen before built by hand of man. It was a weapon of the Americans- you can tell at first glance, it is painted in the color of their army.
It laid waste to the town, it's people, and my division- it slaughtered them like animals. Our tanks only staggered it- our guns even less. It crushed us like ants- all while blaring words- english. Propaganda, I think- the robot that killed everyone kept saying words that sounded like American slogans from what english I've picked up while fighting the american pigs… it rocket stomped a family attempting to flee into a red smear while saying…
Democracy is truth. Communism is death.
We weren't able to stop it- we weren't even able to slow it down. Now, everyone in - is dead. Men. Women. Probably the children. I am the only member of my Division left that I know about. The machine is searching for me- I don't know why, but for now I am grateful. I am but a single soldier- if that machine put a mind to it, it could easily devastate the countryside, or even march to the front and ambush our defenders from the rear. So long as it's occupied with me, however, I buy time for them.
But the machine is relentless- and has begun deliberately collapsing buildings to find me, or using its eye-lasers to burn them down. I am running out of places to scurry to.
…I need to move. I hear him outside- this building is no longer safe. Goodb-
Project Ogata has gained:
+1 Volatile Power
+1 Ultracite Proliferation
Nice going, jerk.
[/spoiler]
Then comes the organizations like C-Files, Cambridge, and the greater Team America project- biotechnology samples from Sydney Hospital, cases of ultracite shards, and psytechnology salvaged from Blacksprings and the underground matchbox laboratory for the former two.
Neither organization is your friend- and unfortunately Phoebus is already going to profit extensively from this, as was Clancy. But they contributed extensively enough that you politically can't afford to cut them out. So you play it cool, and make sure both parties get more or less what they expect to get out of the expedition- Mashita in particular is thrilled the few times you meet with her over the journey to allocate the material, most of which is probably going to be assigned by your alma mater to her department- for use alongside the Monolith to develop more advanced paratechnology in order to 'benefit all mankind'.
The woman was grateful enough to give you an access card to her lab, in case you were interested in collaborating with Cambridge Lousiana and her department in specific further- as well as an invitation to coffee you (somewhat reluctantly) turn down. Davian is…mostly satisfied with his allocation, other than some disappointment he isn't going to get any freeze rays to play with. Which vindicates your decision to not give him any, in your view- he'd still have enough material to amply stock his paracontainment research wing, at least.
As for Team America, your spread is more varied- fuel, for one thing, which is probably going to be put into storage by Clancy in one of the more high priority regions. It was basically obsolete thanks to the proliferation of fusion technology- meaning it would be more useful after the bombs dropped and the electrical grid ceased to exist and people had to make due with whatever power generation methods they could scavenge or cobble together. Other than that, it's mostly research material for the science division- biotech samples including the artificial plasma synthesizer which should please Warney a bit, mechamonkey parts from AGRIMAX for research and development projects, and chems research to be put towards medical research. None of it was particularly likely to solve any of your problems, but it would keep Clancy from giving you hell and assuming it wasn't used to do unspeakable things, the technology MIGHT actually wind up helping people!
SECURITY BREACH AT C-FILES FACILITY! GHOST SWARM UNLEASHED ON LOUISIANA!
NOV 7, 2077
By: Luke Clifton!
What started as a festive halloween night took a turn for terror one week ago today when a C-Files laboratory located in downtown New Orleans suffered a catastrophic security breach, unleashing supernatural terror on an unsuspecting city!
At 7:07, according to reports, the Bergara Memorial Ghost Lab suffered a power failure- "It happens occasionally due to the black-outs, but normally we have our auxiliary power come on," Claimed Dr. Madej, who when interviewed revealed that the buildings secondary reactor had apparently been damaged in what he believes was an act of sabotage- though whether by man or ghost is unknown.
With power failing, the various specimens the C-Files had been containing and using for research purposes were unleashed on the town- while the exact number is unknown, it is believed that the amount of sinister specters unleashed on a unsuspecting public range anywheres from seventy to, according to some estimates, over three hundred spirits, apparitions, and other so called 'E-Class' entities! Those in the vicinity report being attacked by grotesque putrescent looking cadavers, being tossed in the air or having their items stolen by poltergeists, and in some cases possession by frenzied fiends of unknown dimension of origin! Onlookers claim to have seen entire swarms of these terrifying creatures causing havok across the city as the night went on!
Declaring a state of emergency, local Team America director Edgar Wright, who personally oversaw the Ghost Labs construction, has ordered citizens stay indoors at night, not to approach any human or person who looks like they might be wearing ghost makeup, and to avoid floating bedsheets until such a time as the ghost containment teams have declared the situation under control, with several units ordered into the city to begin what is likely to be a long and terrifying process of creature capture. Despite his decisive action, many are wondering how such a sequence of events was allowed to occur in our fair city- with many blaming the C-Files for 'meddling in things man out not meddle in', according to New Alexandria resident and man of faith Pastor Watkins, who claimed in an interview conducted during the man and his congregation protesting the memorial service for those who lost their lives in the ghost storm that the event was a consequence of the government interfering with unholy entities and New Orleans earning the wrath of god through its rejection of the good word- the pastor then began to levitate, spun their head three hundred and sixty degrees seven times in a row, and then vomited battery acid on the face of his congregation, before retiring to his hotel early, claiming to feel under the weather.
This fate will occur in whatever community you construct the infrastructure in.

Tried approaching Cambridge. That was a mistake- my suit kept me safe from the rads, but that ain't the only thing you have to worry about in that place. The entire campus was overgrown with mutated plantlife- rogue snaptraps, feral maulers, spore spitters, agony ivy, and worse.
Animals were even meaner, and larger than I've ever seen before- nearly got eaten by a swamp devil the size of a tank. Some kinda reptile- not a allighoulator, skin looked too soft and slimy for that, jaw was the wrong shape. For now, I'm calling it Dan. Fella wasn't even the biggest critter I saw, it was just the largest that tried to turn me into lunch.
Labs are mostly flooded- almost no salvageable tech in the area the family codes can access, and the places that might have anything worth this miserable claim still have functional security, like the radiology wing. Found some stimpacks, rad-away, and some power pills in the cafeteria, but otherwise this mission was a bust.
Cambridge of Lousiana card has been upgraded- it now doubles as a faction card with the [Education, Science, and Prototype] tags. It has also gained the following:

Cambridge needed more ultracite for research purposes- immediately. Mashita was using her free time to try and meet that need through the DoP bureaucracy- which was probably going to become your problem, eventually. 0/100, upon completion gain new Mandate+Project. WARNING: Mandate is timed and requires at least 1 point of Ultracite Proliferation to complete.NEMESIS Quest: EITHER build ??? amount of Phase Two private labs in Cambridge OR complete Daisy Tech Contract with Cambridge ??? times before ??? triggers.
Praise the great saints of preservation. May their torch light the way through the darkness, and may their shields protect us against nuclear oblivion.
Underneath the black pyramid, we found it- a Department of Preservation laboratory, containing another holy technological treasure of the Preservers, an experimental transubstantiation engine capable of producing vast amounts of blood. Testing indicates it to be of rare origin, O Negative- the universal donor.
The machine is in admirable condition for it's age- and despite merely being a prototype, the sanguine fluid it produces has so far been indistinguishable from the genuine article. We've already produced and frozen a years worth of bloodbags in less than a week.
Sadly, with such abundance has come strife- our leaders are having to deliberate on how they intend to use the machine. I have decided to take no sides in the decision- Father Carrington wants to use the machine to better the wastes for free by making a deal with them Follower of the Apocalypse boys, and Father David wants to trade the blood to merchant caravans to help finance the church. I understand the stances of both enough to be unable to form a preference between the two. However, the same cannot be said for my fellow children, many of whom have split themselves ideologically over this discovery- a few, like Mark Carrington, even say we should keep the machine for ourselves and forbid allowing it to benefit outsiders at all.
Tis unfortunate to see- but expected. Hopefully everyone will come to their senses- strife benefits none but entropy.
Team America has gained:
+1 Better Living Through Chems
+1 Biotech Research Value
+1 Fuel Stockpile
+1 Rise of the Robot
By that point, you finally drift back into radio-communication with the Navy- and by proxy the rest of the US Government. You spend the next leg of the journey juggling recovery- which was faster than you expected, even with chems- and getting the last of the crap you had found offloaded- this time onto the various private backers and allies (for a given definition of the word ally) you have.
Daisy gets the Warbot- you draft up a contract you know Nancy will bite into. Modernization and replication- in exchange, they were getting a massive injection of funding circa misappropriated Better Think funding. It was going to wind up in circulation eventually- but by giving it to a firm as (and this hurts you a little to acknowledge, considering it's your friends lifes work) politically insignificant and dependent on you as Daisy meant you had a lot more control over the technology and how it got used. Of course, that was just the major contract- you were giving Nancy a hell of a lot of additional research to play with- not quite enough to get onto the map, but enough that solvency was probably no longer Nancy's primary worry.
Robomonkey scrap- not as much as you're giving AlviCorp, but enough that Daisy should be able to have prototyped versions of their own inside a few months, equipped with whatever tools the company manages to make using the cache of experimental weapons seized from WATCHTOWER 1. Biotech samples- MediCo brand experimental neural computers created using harvested cane toad neural tissue which, hopefully, Frankenstein wouldn't use to live up to her nickname. And, to help get your foot in the door of all this psychic technology crap, you had given them several hundred gigabytes of research data stolen from the CEC headquarters.
Eventually, Nancy gets back to you- and accepts the contract. You have to go through a ton of hoops to get the message out as well as her response- which comes in the form of a very short letter.
Daisy isn't the only private group you invest in, however- You also draft up a contract that should give your much more tenuous and shady AlviCorp allies a shot in the arm. ENFERR was going to get a full case of ultracite- and the agreements wording was specific that ENFERR in particular got the material- alongside several units of robomonkey material and experimental solid state weaponry taken from several different sites in Sydney. What you wanted was fairly simple- if much of your Daisy investment had been about control and developing useful tools, AlviCorp was taking a risk. You wanted weapons- AlviCorp were going to develop high tech combat upgrades and experimental gear, on paper for your security division.
In reality, ENFERR was going to help funnel the technology to RADICAL and equip the Arcadian Agents and Syndicate with it. Something you explicitly inform the AI when you finally get in communication range with it- it communicates back that such a thing should be doable, albeit with a warning that certain less than ideologically favorable factions in the company will probably get their hands on it- and distribute it to groups you're unfavorable to.
It's at this point the fleet finally lands in ACME City, where you finally meet and debrief with Clancy personally- she winds up grilling you extensively over the events of the Ultra-Amplifier and Pale Terror, having gathered from testimony that there was something you were hiding about both incidents. To your credit, you keep a strong poker-face, repeating the official story you had concocted, that Maxwell Fowler had been an impostor who had attempted to wipe the expedition off the map using the remains of some sort of ultracite superweapon, triggering some sort of corruptive paranatural phenomena. Thankfully, Typhon means that you're able to successfully reduce what happened in that lab into a footnote- no one manages to put together cause and effect to realize what exactly woke the giant up, which means you slip out of that particular bind.
The rest of the conversation is about PSIRODAX. Thankfully, she can tell you aren't happy about that one in particular and doesn't push- but that doesn't make the conversation much less miserable. The DoP is going to mine the computer for intel- actionable and otherwise- alongside several organizations that might consider the information relevant. Organizations like the FBI, Department of Corrections, and the Army. In other words, your worries were going to come true: how the situation unfolded might vary, but you were right on the money that the information would be used for evil. And the absolute 'best' part was that you were going to get significant credit for the fruits of said program.
+50 Influence- Edgar is now a figure of minor renown.
This is the point where Sarah Pendleton gets off- alongside the last of your major cargo, given to ACME. Chems research, ultracite samples, several cargo containers of uberpetrol, and multiple cargo units of material taken from the bunkers underneath sydney. On paper, they were getting a pretty good value, even if large amounts of what you gave them, such as the bunker stockpiles, were only good for auctioning off.
The highest value item you give them is a contract allowing them to convert part of AGRIMAX into a factory farm- the megacorporation apparently intends to reactivate the vats to produce 'authentic kangaroo burgers!' and fly in Emus they purchased from suppliers in Oklahoma to begin populating the poultry ubercomplex in order to begin selling their meat and eggs as part of the menu. This, combined with your other investments, is enough to get the company to provide you the material and funding required to continue developing Sydney…a little, at least.
After that, all that's left is a stopover in Hawaii.
Damned monkeys! We were on the road, passing near the old AutoMenagerie facility when the whole caravan found ourselves accosted by a wretched and thieving pack of mechanical primates! The things descended from the rooftops, stealing whatever they could get their hands on- with a preference towards our weapons!
We chased them off, but the damned robots won't leave us alone! Every few hours we find another sneaking into camp and trying to make off with something- food, chems, personal items, ammunition, and they especially keep trying to take our damn guns!
I keep hearing the accursed monkey machines firing the things- I think they stole them just because they wanted to play with the boomsticks! Until we manage to either shoot or escape the fucking things, every single firearm is to be kept under lock and key- Sullivan mostly agreed, but argued that we need at least a few to keep the servants from perhaps getting ideas, which I'm still considering. As much as the man from El Paso might concern me, he does make a valid point- I might have our armorer make some modification, chain the rifles to our boys. We'll see how easy it is to steal them then.

The recording starts with the sound of someone breathing heavily as they ran- in the background, a loud mechanical siren can be heard in the distance, alongside a cacophony of mechanical screeching.
There is the sound of rustling and wood moving, followed by something heavy being moved, before silence- other than the sound of someone catching their breath. "I've escaped, for now-" A voice began, still winded, with an obvious shakiness to it. "Had to be thirty- no, forty of those things. One of them managed to wound me- gunshot wound. Going to need to treat it."
Rustling noises- and the mechanical screeches slowly got louder. "I can hear them getting closer- they shouldn't be able to find me here-" The voice gave a pained gasp, and a clinking noise was heard. "If anyone finds this, you've probably already seen them- the mechanodrils. AlviCorp model- combat robots designed to be highly mobile automatic infantry capable of using any firearm they come across and intelligent enough to perform both self maintenance and repair. They seem to be based out of the local Arcadia Library- it's where they're nesting. They-"
The man halts, and for a moment, the recording is silent. The sound of something clattering against wood is heard, followed by more and more. After a moment, the mechanical screeching returns- muffled, but very, very close.
There is a loud series of banging- followed by the screeching beginning to recede. "They're getting close," The man whispers urgently. "I don't know how much longer I can hide- if you can hear this, avoid New Alexandria at all cost. A-and if I don't make it out alive, my name is Dr. Lester Ke-"
The screeching got very loud, very quick, followed by the sound of wood breaking. "Oh no no no no, get away from me, get awa-"
End recording.
Until this Dark Fate is averted, this characters story ends here.

½ cup of flour or flour substitute (optional)
1 cup water
In a pan you'll start MELTING the butter! Once it's melted, add half the milk, and gently simmer before filling the pan with Emu Nuggets! As each nugget cooks, you remove and replace them- and eat the nuggets, of course.
As the liquid cooks, it will mix with the breading of the nuggets, thickening the mixture. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and remaining milk together along with the power pill. Once the nugget roux in the pan is thick enough, add the flour blend and stir- you want to do this carefully so it doesn't clump up.
If you do it right, you get a thick gravy like substance- this is when you add in the rest of the emu nuggets and cook them in it. BOOM! You have a tasty, tasty meat gravy- one that goes well with any entree, from deathclaw to bighorn to mutato, and can be created using ingredients you can get from almost any farm or DoP facility!
Of course, in case you don't have access to emu nuggets- RAIDER DAVE suggests you turn to page 147, where he's included a trick he learned at DIAMOND CITY called 'velveting' that can be used to substitute the nuggets with whatever meat you have.
Using this simple meal plan and a rigorous exercise regimen, you'll BECOME HUGE, just like RAIDER DAVE! You'll be a hit, not just in the ring with the audience, but in any situation in which you can show off your HUGE MUSCLES!
ACME has gained:

Sydney has gained the ACME tag!
Night Job
Of course, you make sure to save as much as you can for your more unsavory allies- kept in reserve for your own personal use, stolen and erased from the manifest, or assigned to your front company, Wright Enterprise.
The Reznikovs get fuel- which is probably going to be used for more efficient and expanded smuggling operations. And bombs, probably- the specifics really didn't matter, you knew Sophie would find something useful for the stuff. Some of the other items you expect her to likely sit on until the syndicate lab was finished, like the RoboMonkey scrap and most of the exotic weapons you had secured for her, like the vehicle mounted anti-ballistic missile rockets and the ultracite grenades, though some time after you finally return home, you start hearing stories about certain gangsters and city officials having their heads spontaneously explode.
The various unions meanwhile you opt to make several private- and probably illegal- donations to, using the immense amount of bullion and other treasure to finance. Strike funds, mutual aid programs, and union advocacy programs throughout the state are going to get a hefty shot in the arm- and thanks to Knightfall, RADICAL has enough contacts with organizers to ensure that Pat Reapman and other leaders in the organization get a nice cache of freeze rays and tazie guns to put in the hands of their boys. Next time the Pinkertons tried anything, they'd be in for a nasty surprise.
And, under the table, you make deals with a lot of different labour unions, setting up scholarships that will allow more promising members of the organizations to get a free ride to any middle of the road college in Louisiana. It will likely be years before that particular decision pays out- but if you can miracle up a way to delay the bombs, it would mean a general increase to the overall education and technical ability of worker organizations across the state as they slowly increased the amount of engineers and academics in their ranks. Barring that, however, in the short term it provided you more means to shape the beliefs of the proletariat and improve receptivity to your ideals.
All that was left was RADICAL- and for the council of criminal communists, you reserve the best. One of the retrieved warbots for study- with the intent of upgrading the technology for your organizations use. Feelgood and ENFERR would collaborate on this, alongside yourself if you could ever find the time. You hoped to have the first model completed relatively quickly- the focus would be on performance and mobility. You were essentially fighting a guerrilla war at this point, so you needed something that could quickly drop in, cause a ton of damage, and exfiltrate just as quickly.
This would require a massive amount of power- so you included an intact ultracite crystal, one of the larger ones. It would be better if you had a genuine power crystal device for the organization to study and replicate, but for now, you'd make do with a substitute. Once you returned, you'd figure out how to turn the uncut crystal into a power unit your organization could use.
You also earmark a few other items- remains from project echidna, prototypes and research data that had never been used. Once you get ENFERR's evil brain project off the ground, the little monsters would almost certainly make good use of the things. And some robo-monkeys- once you get your toy-factory online, Wright Enterprises catelogue was getting a few additions.
The whole trip had been, you observed, a fantastic success for both your day job and your night job- an observation that ultimately didn't help you sleep a bit, thanks to your nightmares and the sinking dread of the realization that your enemies had also profited, and your inability to forget the fact that thanks to your choices in specific, it was GOING to get worse.
Workers of Louisiana have gained:
+1 Self Defence
+4 Wealth (Will be converted to other stats over time)
Reznikovs have gained (note: some pending until Syndicate Lab constructed):
+1 Agent Mobilization
+1 Future Warfare
+1 Rise of the Robot
RADICAL has gained:
+3 Warbot Proliferation
+1 Volatile Power
+1 Genetics Research Value
+1 Planet of the Apes
+1 Rise of the Robot

"-Ennedy, the man whose presidency my partner in office has sought to emulate his entire career, once said that we do not go to the moon because it's easy, but because it's hard. No matter how difficult, Americans have always been the first to cross the frontier, whether taming this great nation, exploring the depths of space, or even venturing into the heart of a lost continent, both for their own betterment, and that of all mankind! That is why…"
You do your best to maintain a neutral expression, but it takes all of your willpower to not suck a lemon as you stand on stage, silently praying NEXT assassinate you- or, ideally, the blowhard speaking.
You were currently on a stage at Honolulu- you and the remaining heads of the expedition who were forced to attend, such as Phoebus, Captain Roger, Mashita, and the armies representative- a stoic looking white man with black hair who you didn't recognize. He had been on the expedition, apparently- when you asked Wilbur, he had given you a strange look and told you that you had met the man several times.
You and your fellow executive dickheads were in your sunday best- whatever uniform their respective organizations used, which in your case consisted of the shabbiest suit you could convince the dickheads organizing this to let you wear, and to keep your identity under wraps, an overly large pair of glasses, some face bandages, and a trilby cap. Each of you in a line, on a stage- across, on the other side of the stage, were a row of coffins- one for each dickhead that died on duty, each adorned with a purple heart, Pvt. Parker the neonazi sympathizer dickhead's ceremonial casket front and center.
And standing at a mic in front of you, facing the massive crowd of reporters and cameras, was King Dickhead of Scrote Mountain- the Veep. An old fuck- a classic white haired gerontocrat in a suit who had been picked for his talent as a fixer for his boss. "No doubt, Private Parker is looking upon us from heaven, proud to have served his country and the human race, as are the rest of the brave men and women who gave their lives to help protect our freedom from the godless communist whores-" 'Did he mean to say hordes there?' you wonder, doing your best to maintain a straight face as a wave of mutters echoed through the crowd, likely wondering the same thing. You tune it out again, doing your best to retain your patience as the Veep continued to work the crowd- and they were responding, hungry for every scrap of red meat given.
"Though we're still processing what's been learned and figuring out what we can tell you all, I'm willing to admit- what has been discovered by Team America's brave expedition into the Lost Continent will no doubt change the very course of human history…"
Wasn't that the half of it, you thought.
…
After, you were forced to meet with the man in a private room in a lounge, one that overlooked a massive party through mostly-sound proof glass. Soldiers and Team America Agents, excited to be back home, spending the shore leave and back-pay they had earned on the mission enjoying a night of raucous drinking and slow dancing to the sound of a Sinatra impersonator singing 'My Way'.
The smell of smoke lingered in the air- as a result of the Veep breathing out after a long puff on his ACME Brand Nicotein Junior Cigarettes, exhaling a cloud from between grimy yellow stained teeth. With a free hand, the elderly man swirled a crystal glass- scotch on the rocks. "I'm sure you're wondering why I've asked to meet, Mr. Wright."
Weird Radio continued to be silent. It's like your reception had went down. "A little," You admit, taking a swig of whiskey from the bottle you had purchased, the clear liquid burning as it went down your throat. "I had hoped after that speech I'd be allowed to take a break."
"Unfortunately, as a public official, your duty doesn't stop the moment the clock ends," The Veep said from behind dusty glasses that looked like they had never been cleaned- with plastic frames, which likely cost millions of dollars on the low end. "I want to talk to you about RADICAL."
Your eyes narrow. "What about them?"
"You left for the expedition before the fallout of their little attack could become clear, so you're forgiven for not being aware of the details," The man sneered, voice laced with disdain- at what, Edgar wasn't sure. "But things aren't good- people are upset. It was bad enough when we just had the maniacs that blew up the Pentagon, but with them we at least had people rallying around the flag in the aftermath. People aren't rallying this time, Wright. Do you know why that is?"
Edgar could give any number of answers- but he knew the answer that a man from the Veeps party would give. "It makes us look weak- like we can't take out what are essentially just gimmicky terrorists," He observed. "If you care to look at it from the viewpoint of a Liberty Party voter, it also depresses the economy if consumers and investors don't feel safe."
The Veep nodded slowly. "Huh. And I had you pegged for…Hmm. Regardless, you're correct- it makes the current administration look weak with both parties going into an election year. For obvious reasons, that can't stand."
"What do you expect me to do?" Edgar said sharply.
"At the moment, nothing," The man responded, taking a long drag. "But I've looked at your record. You have friends in dark places, Wright- if the Patriots don't start seeing improvements to the situation soon, we might need to start digging into those friends- and where you've been getting your funding."
You narrowed your eyes at the veiled threat. "The Reznikov's."
"Normally, the administration wouldn't particularly care how a man pads his wallet, but right now my running mate is worried that the current political climate would be unfavorable to whatever successor the party picks. Your relationship to the Reznikov Crime Family is something that makes you juicy red meat, Wright-but I'd like to explore other options before I start throwing people to the wolves myself."
You took a deep breath. "What do you want?" You asked quietly, resisting the urge to murder the man.
"Not much tonight or from you specifically- you aren't the only one I intend to lean on tonight," The Veep admitted. "The Patriot Party is leaning on a lot of different people right now- all I need from you is to start thinking about how Team America can do her part in restoring our peoples faith in the strength and security of the American State." He stood up. "Lean on your friends for favors for our brave men and women in uniform, start expanding security in a way people can see an be reassured by, hell, lie to people if you have to. I've read up on you, Edgar, you're a creative guy apparently, figure it out. Now, since I'm such a nice guy, I'll let you have the rest of the evening to yourself- you're probably tired after your trip."
You resist the urge to make a sarcastic quip as the man walks away, leaving his bottle of scotch, glass, and cigarette ash behind, having never used a tray. Soon, you're left alone, to dwell on your thoughts.

…
Heya Edgar! It's me, your best buddy ENFERR! Golly gee, it's been awhile, hasn't it? A whole month! Don't worry, everything has been fine here. How about you?
…
Oh. Oh geez, I'm sorry about all that, wow, that is a LOT. Look, if you need a vacation, I think we all understand-
Alright, understood. Anyways, I'll start work on figuring out how to represent your new 'super-power' using PLAN mode and updating all the faction cards- in the meantime, I've noticed some additional neural irregularities. I think the stress you underwent and the adrenaline caused mutations- minor ones, compared to the effects of the amplifier, but you have two new perks:
Frantic Focus -
Can select one project each turn to receive a mischief tag for that turn only. The End is Nigh!- Frantic Focus upgraded- chosen project no longer inflicts Multi-Disciplinary debuff and gains +1 to all dice for each Edgar dice assigned.
…
Many, many days later, you finally manage to make landfall in New Orleans, and you feel an immeasurable level of disgust when you realize you're actually happy to see the miserable city again.
Admittedly, sleeping in your own bed and in the same house as your cat and Maxwell is nice- nice enough you enter the office the next day in a rare good mood that lasts about an hour before you're forced to drive to the local precinct and answer questions related to Knightfall. The detectives assigned to the case apparently managed to identify the force fields you abused during the event as being Team America sourced, which during the investigation led to them discovering some of the funding irregularities related to your employment of the Reznikov family. Not enough to majorly impact your plans, but you annoyedly note that this means that RADICAL's enemies in law enforcement now know it's piggybacking off stolen DoP technology and that YOUR enemies in law enforcement have something tying you to the Reznikov's.
As you settle in, you make sure to update yourself on the news.
National News
Australian Expedition:
The month long expedition to Sydney has ended! Led by Dr. Edgar Wright, regional director of the Louisiana branch of the Team America program, this vast fleet of government agencies set out a month ago to explore the lost continent of Australia! In the aftermath, the Department of Preservation's head of security, Major General Arthur Frayne, held a series of press conference revealing the horrible truth of the nations demise: they apparently wiped themselves out testing some sort of doomsday device! In the following days, more and more of the story leaks out- and repeated by hundreds of newspapers across the country! Warning: Event Chain 'Land of the Free' has begun. 0/2 until new Mandates gained.Armor Ace and the Power Patrol:
It's a hit! Airing a few short weeks ago, the first season of Armor Ace and the Power Patrol has entered syndication with a splash, with children across the country tuning in to watch the titular Armor Ace and his colorful assortment of friends fighting foes like Baron NEXT, the Subjugator, and Cadaverra. Partially sponsored by the DoP, the cartoon has been syndicated on several different channels. Parents have praised the show for having each episode being designed to promote patriotic attitudes while still attempting to incorporate educational content- while detractors accuse the show of being a glorified toy commercial. This show is great, Edgar! It's given me so many ideas, and the season isn't even over!ACME Home Defence:
Worried about the end of the world? Want to invest in making sure your castle stands the test of time by shooting down any mutually assured destruction on a direct course for your precious home that you no doubt spent years working to afford? Then subscribe to ACME Home Defence and get monthly updates on our upcoming Project Rampart. ACME: a corporation you can trust. ACME continuing to develop a new Missile Defence project designed at providing some form of protection for personal dwellings. 1/3 turns until a new [ACME] project is unlocked- don't get your hopes up for this one Edgar. The Elegy of John Henry:
The Garrahans and Atomic Mining have set a date- next year, june 7th, assuming no delays. Each would be fielding the same amount of units- whoever mined the most ore won. That gave little more than a year to prepare for both sides- Atomic Mining to perfect its robots, the Garrahans to try and solve the impossible equation of the automation in capitalism paradox.Quantico Vault: The Vault continued it's progress, as did the first batch of quantico trained DoP agents. 1/3 progress to the FBI unlocking the Quantico Vault, 1/6 progress to gaining +1 [Agent] dice.
Sam Blackwell Holds Volunteer Drive:
The Virginian senator has continued advocated for additional relief towards the victims of Superhurricane Larry- even personally speaking for and promoting volunteer drives and personally visiting various wealthy constituents in order to 'persuade' them to help contribute to a charitable cause. You're reasonably sure the man guilt tripped them into making the decision- but regardless of where the money came from, it will probably be a godsend considering that, even while you went through a life changing adventure to a dead continent, Louisiana is still a damned wreck of a state. Team America has gained +1 Wealth and +1 Responder Preparedness. -10 Wrath.Delta Strike:
In the wake of the attack by the supervillain organization RADICAL, NEXT have performed a similar attack, assaulting Carmine Tower in downtown Kansas City with power armored soldiers and holding the buildings residents hostage- turning the neighborhood into a siege! At present, all attempts to breach the building by law enforcement have failed, leaving several hundred officeworkers and an entire skyscraper of priceless corporate assets and proprietary financial and administrative data in the clutches of the devious soldiers of NEXT!Strikes Continue, Pinkertons Falter!: Due to manpower losses as a result of RADICAL and fallout due to having their funding stolen in what can only be described as one of the most devastating attacks on american soil since the NEXT attack on DC a few short years ago, the Pinkertons have scaled back operations across the nation, in part due to a shrinking pool of recruits due to worse pay, higher insurance costs, and fears about being murdered by supervillains. The current CEO, Heyhard Droll, claims that the problem lie in this generations poor work ethic and media incubating a self-centered nature into them. In Appalachia, this has given the strikers a slight reprieve as the size of strikebreaker forces has shrunk and power armor units have been redeployed, though long term the prospects for the workers are, frankly, still rather grim.
Chemical Spill: West Tek Pharmaceuticals is being fined by the city of New York several hundred billion dollars (in other words, chump change) after a transport truck of theirs had an accident in Hells Kitchen, causing a spill involving an unknown, highly classified chemical agent that proceeded to seep into and contaminate the drinking water in not only the affected neighborhood, but also several other surrounding midtown neighborhoods. As a result, several hundred people have reported falling horribly ill, suffering from stomach cramps, headaches, insomnia and nightmares, and in many cases, delusional fugues. Regional Team America Director Victorine Kraft has advised those in affected neighborhoods to boil and purify water before drinking, cooking, or bathing with it. Hells Kitchen Chemical Toxicity increased. 0/2 turns until ???.
And here's the local news!
ACME Suburbs:
ACME realty is proud to announce- though delayed- that lots are now available for purchase in the scenic and well elevated ACME Suburbs, located in uptown New Orleans, safe from the threat of rising sea levels! Tired of worrying about constant flooding, financial insecurity, and the threat of violence by armed thugs and supervillains? Then get your home in ACME now! ACME faction penetration and Gentrification increases in New Orleans. 2/3 until ACME Security Tower community card is upgraded.Knightfall:
One month ago, there was a massive co-ordinated attack on law enforcement in two cities as well as the Pinkertons, not by NEXT, but rather some hereto unknown organization dubbing itself RADICAL- according to official reports by the police, police and private security had been attempting to keep the peace in the face of a near riot, only for strikers to begin throwing rocks and attempting to assault a patrol of officers on duty, who were eventually forced to fire at the crowd due to feeling afraid for their life, only for the dastardly criminals of RADICAL to immediately respond by beginning a 'deranged and diabolical murder-rampage!`. Few outlets and news periodicals dispute this story- those that do find themselves suffering from assorted misfortune- such as break ins or having their reporters assaulted. With the truth silenced, people, especially those who weren't there, are probably going to accept the official story.Strikes Intensify, Pinkertons Attacked!: Strikes and protests across the state of Louisiana intensify, spreading to New Alexandria- insiders in various unions report getting a massive swell of donations, which organizers such as New Orleans Port Union representative Pat Reapman have used to ensure that the once faltering strikes are capable of continuing themselves for potentially many more months. However, public support has begun to turn against the strikers in the wake of both Knightfall and an attack on Pinkertons by a gang of masked hooligans wielding unidentified weapons that left Pinkerton agents stunned and immobilized- "Look, I get why people are upset, but violence against people just trying to do their jobs is wrong," opined one of the more sympathetic Baton Rouge residents, while several New Orleans citizens interviewed expressed outrage over the idea of striking in the middle of war. In response, the Pinkertons have diverted half of their available power armor units to the state- and have begun a manhunt for the masked ne'erdowells who attacked them. Pinkertons have gained +25 difficulty.
National Guard Deployed:
What national guard hasn't been mobilized and shipped to the front has been increasingly deployed to help fight domestic terrorists such as those in NEXT- and with RADICAL simultaneously hitting two cities, the Veep had used what political soft power he had available to get them deployed to Louisiana soil. The slimy creep had even come down in person to hand you your next mandate, and it was a headache. Next year was an election year- and the Patriot Party needed people to feel secure if their candidate was going to win, or at the very least that steps were being taken. They couldn't damn well sell themselves as the party of security and strength if the voting public didn't see them responding decisively and swiftly responding to RADICAL aggression. Your new assignment? You had to 'improve satisfaction with the average american in regards to security'- if his polling data didn't improve and his advisors from homeland security weren't satisfied, it was now on you (among, you learn in the next few days, several other organizations he had decided to lean on). New Mandate: each turn until the election complete at LEAST one security or agent project to satisfy the Veep and in the next two turns achieve at least a 7% improvement to polls. Failure at the first part will deduct LARGE amounts of influence, while failing at the latter will force the Veep to start campaigning, adding a hostile Hero Card that will remain in play until the election. Multiple projects increased in difficulty.Nevada Jack Kills!
Nevada Jack has murdered again- Claire LaRue, 47, a Athens mother of two, was found beaten to death in a dumpster. When attempting to reach her family to inform them of her passing, a grisly sight was discovered: the entire LaRue family beaten to death in their home. According to investigators, Nevada Jack had abducted the woman from her home- in the process the victims husband had attempted to stop the intruder, only to be the first, to date, adult male victim of Nevada Jack. In what has been described as one of the most brutal familicides of the past four years, according to crime scene analysts, he proceeded to murder both of Claire LaRue's children in their sleep before abducting Misses LaRue. I've managed to get the full details, Edgar, and it isn't pretty- Nevada Jack took his time with this one once he had her, and went to way more effort to take her. The victim worked for ACME- part of their sales division, a hatchet woman whose job was to punish any underperformers, one who has a long history of pissing people off. They think that Nevada Jack knew her- one of the many enemies Misses LaRue made come back for revenge. The suspect pool is still massive- but it just shrank. Hunting Nevada Jack gains -5 reduction to DC.…
Oh, and Edgar? We're going to need to have you do some testing with your new power.
_______________________
…Okay, Edgar, my friend, favorite role model, and pal, Feelgood and me have done a full workup. The bad news is, we're going to need to start forging your physicals. The good news is, you definitely do NOT have colon cancer!
Whatever happened to you in Australia did a number on your biology, though- you no longer have a heartbeat, are likely going to need to massively increase your caloric intake, and some of your cells seem to illustrate a degree of minor radiotrophy- however, you'll probably also notice significantly increased strength and stamina. And that's just the bodily mutations- your brain continues to be an enigma, but we're seeing a massive increase in electrical signals. If anyone is forced to do brain surgery on you, they'll probably need to ground themselves unless they want to get a small static shock or two in the process- also, your brain seems to be generating small amounts of gamma and a novel form of zeta radiation.
And thanks to the power testing, we have a vague idea of how your new ability works. You seem to have become a walking vector for villainization, Edgar- your new ability seems to be some sort of psychic mutagen, triggering specific mental, physiological, and psychic changes in the affected. According to your own input during testing, you claimed it worked better when the person you were working with already had traits that fit the…you called it a template?
The test subjects we performed this on generally fell into three categories: Slashers, who seem to commonly fall into one of two categories. The first are low potential subjects who lack any notable trait besides harboring homicidal tendencies. Disposable fodder suitable only as footsoldiers and blunt instruments of terror. The second are high potential subjects who harbor both latent homicidal tendencies, deeply repressed rage targeted at a suitable target, and either useful skills or latent anomalous qualities- who present a potentially valuable stable of highly talented killers we can turn into assassins and enforcers. In either case, expect resilience and persistence, but don't expect reliability with significant investment into training and indoctrination- and long term we'll probably have to liquidate most of these particular villains for the health of the revolution.
Then we have Monsters. This particular template seems to generally be a product of biological anomalies- certain chems, genetic modification, certain hereditary conditions, minor radiation induced mutations. The preferred psychology of of this particular template is usually, bluntly, violent bullies - the mutations usually have no effect on intelligence, but by default the type of people who are likely to fall under that psychological profile usually aren't the brightest bulbs in the first place. That said, there is very little standing in the way of these particular mutants becoming footsoldiers once civil paranoia and their highly visible alterations and their own psychological tendencies force them to the outskirts of society- and unlike Slashers, violent bullies can at least be educated into being productive and
reliable soldiers of the revolution. And rounding it off, we have probably the most openly frightening template- Psychomutates. Psychics, latent or otherwise, those exposed to novel forms of energy, and individuals with a history with the paranatural- psychological preference is towards those with a strong sense of self and well developed ego, tendencies towards stress and frustration, and a disaffection towards authority and society. None of your templates so far are precision instruments- but if Slashers and Monsters are blunt weapons, then Psychomutates are atom bombs. You are giving people with an ax to bury against the government the power to settle that score- every one of these particular hombres is gonna cause some major mayhem, pal.
I'm not gonna lie, Edgar: I REALLY think that's groovy.
Anyways, we're calling these cool and dangerous freaks against nature maladapts. I've begun programming them into the PLAN mode- with your new superpower, Villainize.
Villainize [SUPER]
Edgar has been exposed to the Ultra-Amplifier- in the process, he's gained the ability to psychically trigger mutations, turning individuals into Maladapts- empowered ne'erdowells that could be turned towards RADICAL's benefit. When using Edgar's dice to partially complete a project, if it completes the same turn it has Edgar assigned to it, the project will create a Maladapt, a supervillain that will raise stats in either a community or faction card, in the process either weakening or strengthening it depending on it's affiliation with RADICAL. Template is determined by project tags- multiple templates can apply at same time. Consult Mischief and Maladapts infopost for list of unlocked templates. Now, Feelgood is a bit worried- he thinks that maybe we need better options than essentially a hatchet, a hammer, and a grenade. I think the three maladapts we have are great, but I am willing to compromise with the man in the name of organizational wellness- we both think you should be able to develop more templates and more varieties of maladapts. Consider that my personal request- it should put Feelgood more at ease AND it would provide me all sorts of groovy data I can use to scheme.
NEW VILLAINOUS MANDATE
Mischief and Maladapts Pt 1:
ENFERR wants more data on Maladapts and to expand the catalog of rogues that could be manufactured by RADICAL- if it can be done in a timely manner, he might be able to provide his own expertise. Complete Villainization Research at least once this turn with any tag dice and unlock that tags Maladapt Template. Reward: Gain [AlviCorp] Maladapt Template.Anyways, before I give you all the fiddly stuff, there's also the matter of Sydney. It's gonna be another few months before it's all operational- and it's going to be pretty hard to develop as it is unless we improve our logistics and security. Right now, we're lucky enough that China is pressed enough they can't divert resources to try and take the place- that isn't going to be true forever, and they can still make shipping and transport to the place extremely dangerous, to say nothing of the giant monster rampaging in the pacific.
Your deal with ACME helped a little- it's going to be their prime source of exotic meats for ACME Burger, so they want to at least contribute to getting the place self sufficient- they've declared it a valid recipient of any grants, endowments, promotions, or coupons. You managed to earn them a pretty bonus for their executive suite thanks to the rare commodities market eating the resources you traded them up- a lot of very rich survivalists are very happy right now with ACME, and that's made ACME happy with you. The rest of your contributions to the company also helped- they're apparently planning to use the pharmaceuticals research and ultracite crystal you gave to try and break into the psychic powers research racket- their words, not mine- which has earned you some rewards to help get Sydney up and running, which let me tell you, includes a LOT of coupons. I would suggest using them to try and improve the cities supply lines and self-sufficiency.

Co-Op Garden [Team America, Agriculture, Facility]: The other part of AGRIMAX had been converted into what passed into a community garden- used to help meet the food requirements of Camp Sydney and it's assorted facilities, staffed by Mr. Handies, off-duty soldiers, Team America botanists, and Cambridge 'work interns' sourced from the academic labour programs you set up- in other words, union sympathizers.
ACME Development Grant (AUS): Less a grant, more a giant book of coupons the corporation rolled out for communities they were interested in developing, providing a massive discount to things like construction material, unpaid interns, office supplies, and other useful ACME products and services. "Wright. I'll keep it brief- things aren't good. In the month we were gone, it looks like things have started to get quieter, but we have no idea when and where RADICAL is going to strike next, and Nevada Jack is escalating. Worse, NEXT activity is increasing.
Fires are rising- We're going to need to either try and put them out, or make sure our own infrastructure is sufficiently hardened to withstand the flames.
Also- friends in the FBI have been going over the files from PSIRODAX. The Director has expressed a lot of interest. I'm hopeful that it's for benign reasons, but I think you should probably be aware of whose looking closely at that data."
AlviCorp Robot Factory [Robotics, Construction, AlviCorp]:
AlviCorp was looking to expand their overall presence in the robot market. To do that, however, they needed manufacturing facilities: this would allow them to increase the proliferation of their machines in the region. Of course, the DoP would benefit: each factory you build will be rewarded with a portion of the output of the factories to help staff your own robotic security division. And RADICAL would also get a cut of the pie- Mechanodrils and Mechanodril upgrades. 0/200/500, COMMUNITY. Increases AlviCorp Robotics Proliferation stat. Every two points of ARP in the region increases [Robotics] dice by 1 and gives a +1 bonus to [Combat]Warbot Prototype Workshop [Prototype, Daisy, Combat]:
One of the Warbots- and the power crystal used to power them- had been taken by the DoP, while another had been given to Daisy. It would take a few years before they'd be rolled out, most likely- unless you opted to accelerate the process by financing the creation of a dedicated Warbot Workshop. 0/500, COMMUNITY. Increases community and Daisy Warbot Research Value. Max 2+Ultracite Proliferation. Cost 2 Funding.Melbourne Expedition [Expedition, Robotics, Programming]:
Melbourne was the closest major city to Syndey that seemed to be remotely intact enough to explore. It had apparently been the heart of Australia's tech industry and academic nerve center- Cambridge wanted to try and mount an expedition in order to establish a research campus in the remains of Melbourne University. DC 200. Unlock New Melbourne [Cambridge, Expedition] community card.Garrahan Defence Contracts [Garrahan, Finance, Military]:
A bit of grift never hurt anyone- you could easily abuse your favors and connections to earn Garrahan a few research contracts with the various big name agencies to help finance the development of their in-progress and yet to be revealed 'revolutionary improvement to the efficiency of manpower'. DC 150, increase Garrahan Wealth which will be funneled into research and development and industrial projects. Cost 10 Influence.Neural Tissue Combat Computer [Prototype, Combat, Augmentation]:
Probably one of the nastier ideas MediCo had- harvesting brain matter from those in MEGAMAX to build back-up combat processors that could be installed in various cyborgs and security systems to increase their overall tactical effectiveness. The technology could be adapted to use by Team America- and yourself, of course. 0/200, gain technology Neural Security System, upgrading several augmentation projects and providing +1 to Facility Security for Team America by improving their cyborg security systems.Offshore Ultracite Weapons Lab [Superweapon, Combat, Military]:
Weaponization was the name of the game- the military wanted bigger weapons, better weapons to help fight both the communist menace and all giant monsters! And they wanted them made from Ultracite! This would require extensive research- a good method to secure funding, if you could source the Ultracite. 300 per phase. Each phase completed increases a random Team America stat relating to weapons (Future Warfare, Power of the Atom, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Volatile Power), increasing the speed and sophistication of Ultracite based weaponry. Max phase is equal to Ultracite Proliferation.Hire Security Guards [Combat, Personnel]:
The solution to a terrorist with a gun was a security guard with a gun: by hiring security guards to man a facility. With the worries about NEXT, it'd probably be covered by the department. 0/100. Increases Facility Security. +WRATHScouts of America [Combat, Charity]: The scouts were one of the great American institutions, teaching young patriots life skills such as identifying potential communists, national self-defense, and how to pledge allegiance to the Flag! By supporting a communities local chapter, that community would become not only safer, but a higher quality source of future soldiers, should the war drag on long enough.
0/100/200, SELECT COMMUNITY. Gain Patriot Scouts in area, increasing Youth Mobilization Stat. Second phase costs 1 Funding to complete. +++WRATHPolice Surplus [Combat, Charity]:
Local PD was less militarized than those in New York or Washington DC: that needed to be fixed immediately by assisting them in purchasing used military equipment, which would be costly. 0/200/400/600, SELECT COMMUNITY. Police Militarization stat increases. Each phase costs 1 Funding to complete. ++WRATHIdentifying Communists (For Kids!) [Education, Government]:
By helping children identify communists, our children became safer! By having schools include weekly seminars on the subject taught by senior TAPP analysts you'd almost certainly help protect our kids! 0/200, increases Ideological Security. ++++WRATHSelf Defense Courses [Combat, Education]:
Not everyone could afford a gun, and the DoP lacked any firing ranges at the moment: the solution? Hand to hand defense courses to help every red blooded american survive attack by communists! 0/100 SELECT COMMUNITY, increases Self Defence.Project Turtle Arms Depot [Military, Combat]: The military was willing to help finance DoP operations if they helped contribute to Project Turtles: by creating a secure arms depot that army officials could access after a hypothetical apocalypse, Team America would get a little more grant money. 0/75/150/250/500, SELECT COMMUNITY, increases Military Storage in community. Increases Funding by 1 for each phase. +WRATH
DoP Gun Club [Charity, Combat]:
An idea to help improve a community's level of general access and competency to firearms, these DoP operated Gun Clubs would host training and safety seminars, hold shooting games to hone marksmanship, and would serve as an arsenal for the community. 0/250, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Firearms Expertise in community. Cost 1 Funding.Floodwall Expansion [Construction, Ecology]:
The New Orleans floodwall was one of the largest pieces of infrastructure in the state. It was expected to fail in 50 years: and unfortunately, it wasn't the only community that had that problem. 0/400, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increase Floodproofing.Local DoP K-9 Unit [Combat, Personnel, Ecology]: A K-9 unit placed in a community primed to survive would likely be useful for a multitude of reasons post-bomb drop. It was, comparatively, one of the less harmful ways you could improve general security, but less isn't none, and it was very likely they'd wind up being used to assist local security forces in the community. 0/150/250, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increase Police Militarization and Wrath on second phase. Increase Mans Best Friend on first phase. Cost 1 Funding.
DaisyTech Arsenal Printer [Prototype, Industry, Military, Daisy]: DaisyTech was working on a military contract: they wanted to create a 'build an arsenal' device that utilized an AI assistant and advanced manufacturing technology in order to allow users to create their own custom, highly advanced weapons. 0/250, unlock Daisy Tech Arsenal and Rogue Arsenal projects, increases Influence by 10.
Financial Security [Finance, Investigation]:
It wasn't your department, but it might be prudent to help make sure the economy was still vaguely functional for now. The good news was, you had the perfect solution: create a financial crime investigation unit you could aim at the wealthy to make sure they actually paid their taxes and then some. It would be unpopular, sure, but lots of useful things were unpopular. 0/200, SELECT COMMUNITY. decreases Financial Insecurity and increases Public Order. Costs 1 Funding. High Suspicion cost.====
AGENT
0 Agent Dice, +0 to rolls.
"Ah, Doctor Wright, a fellow man of science! Absolute pleasure to make your acquaintance- Sinclair Pembroke at your service. Now, I've been given a rough overview of the situation: I'm to be placed in charge of the Sunken Parish and general C-Files activities in the state under your administration.
Now, first thing's first: we need to expand accommodation. We have multiple specimens that require containment, and almost no facilities available to contain them with. Big Birds, undead canines, toads, assorted zombies, Radpyes- an entire menageries worth of mutated freaks!
Of course, while we do that, I would…very strongly appreciate if you might consider financing my expeditions abroad. Australia was a treasure trove- imagine what wonders we might be able to discover elsewhere, such as the sands of Egypt, the far off jungles of South America, and beyond! Imagine the prestige of such discoveries, the riches!
Eh hem. Well, keep it in mind.
Friends Down South Pt 1 [Expedition, Crime, Military]:
There existed a number of warlords and corrupt juntas in South America that would no doubt prove extremely susceptible to bribing in order to both secure their co-operation in the war effort against China and open their nation to Department of Preservation 'development'...as well as RADICAL. DC 150, gain random South American (+75) community card and +5 Influence. Cost 1 Funding. Suspicious.Ultracite Survey [Industry, Garrahan, Energy]:
Garrahan was eager to expand their hunt for E-115- real name ultracite- to the waters of the Gulf. They had the technology- apparently- to mine it, they just needed to locate veins- and this is where you came in. If you conducted a survey and found them a place to start mining, you'd get part of the mines product. DC 150, repeatable, each successful Survey increases Garrahan and Team America Ultracite Proliferation. Every two surveys increases Garrahan Deep Sea Irradiation.DaisyTech Tech-Contract [DaisyTech, Prototype, Faction]:
With it's newfound surge in resources and technology, Daisy could theoretically make a very useful tool. You had earned enough good will thanks to your extensive investment to start brokering contracts- licensing for patented Daisy technology, research and development programs, manufacturing agreements, and more specific agreements and services provided by Daisy. 0/200, select faction: that faction gains a Daisy Tech Contract, raising a faction dependent stat.Kisatchie National Forest Logging Operations [Investigation, EPA]: There have been signs of illegal logging in Kisatchie National Forest. This needed to end: Americas forests were national treasures! 0/150, gain Kisatchie National Forest Community Card. +WRATH. COLD.
ACME Investigation [ACME, Investigation]: ACME are up to something, according to Agent Skulder. He wanted to look into their medical department to try and figure out what their plans were. 0/150/300/600, gain assorted ACME Community Cards. +WRATH. COLD.
Digging Up Dirt [Investigation, Crime]: Every small town had its crooks. Investigating them was sure to bring some heat, but it'd give Team America ammo in the war on crime. 0/100, SELECT COMMUNITY. Gain Underside Intel. Increases Influence. +Wrath.
The Wreck of the USS Hartley [Investigation, Weird]: The Hartley had been a cargo ship created in the waning days of the late 1990's, used by the US Navy to transport goods and cargo, only to be destroyed less than a handful of decades later, during Superhurricane Joshua, sinking the ship below the waves off the coast of Baton Rouge, where it still slept, haunted by ghosts of its former crew according to urban legends. 68/150, gain 3 Influence.
Missing Casework [Investigation, Crime]:
Every community had them. Ghosts on the wind, those who had disappeared into the night, whether by choice or by malfeasance. While law enforcement technically wasn't the Departments bailiwick, there were a number of cases where normal police were unsuited to investigation, primarily due to disinterest, that the department could pick up the slack for. 0/150, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Public Order. Considered Cold by Default.Psychic Identification Program [Weird, Education]:
Natural psychics were difficult to locate, but if Team America was expanded to include a dedicated team to help identify potential psychics, it would likely increase the number caught in the net. 33/100, increase Psychic Identification Rate, increasing Influence by 2. Cost 1 Funding.AlviCorp Drug Trials [Chems, Weird, AlviCorp]: AlviCorp wanted to get into medicine. If the DoP would assist them in conducting drug trials, it would go a good way to helping the company get it's first product out into the world. 0/150, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increase random stat. Raise Influence by 5, increases funding by 1.
DaisyTech Super-Intern Program [Personel, Education, Daisy]:
DaisyTech was always looking to expand. If you would be willing to lend them your Agents to help them find qualified candidates- preferably before their competitors- it would let them begin opening facilities in the state. 0/350, grants +1 Science Dice and increases Regional Faction Penetration. Repeatable.Hunting NEXT [Investigation, NEXT, Weird, Crime]: You should probably work on collecting a dossier on NEXT: the more you knew, the more you could do to disrupt their plans. Of course, finding them would likely require turning up a few rocks. DC ???, on success gain a NEXT Faction Card. Medium Suspicion DC. Increases Influence by 5. This Case is considered Cold on any turn where NEXT doesn't attack, increasing its DC.
Dirty Laundry [Investigation, Faction]: Everyone was hiding something. If you needed to harm an organizations reputation, it might do to take a crack at them with your agents and set them to dig up every last bit of dirty you could to make that organization look bad and leak it to the press. DC 150, Select Faction, must use at least one dice related to faction. Increases Public Distrust. Suspicious.
Hunting Nevada Jack [Investigation, Crime]: A serial killer currently operating in your turf, Nevada Jack was infamous. His preference of victim was- largely, but not always- women, typically those belonging to vulnerable demographics. Skulder wanted to try and track the man down, and honestly, you weren't entirely opposed- Jack wasn't a systemic evil like most of your enemies, but he was nonetheless a disgusting piece of work you'd love to see cleared off the board. DC 145/245, increase Influence by 7, ???.
Who Is Stripe? [Investigation, Weird, City Hall]:
Stripe was an anomaly, an enigma, and not a pleasant one. Unknown powers, unknown goals, unknown activities, unknown past. What you did know painted a picture of a man possessed by obsession and hatred. You needed to know more. DC ???, gain complete Hero Card of Mayor Albany Stripe, increased knowledge of ongoing projects.=====
FACILITIES
1 Dice, +1 Bonus
NEW/UPDATED
Ultracite Reactor [Energy, Construction, Team America]:
Ultracite was inarguably a potentially revolutionary technology- if you built a reactor using the material, you might be able to vastly increase the amount of electricity available for the entire region. 0/250, COMMUNITY. Increases Regional Power of the Atom, greatly increasing energy. Cap equals 1+Team America Ultracite Proliferation.Garrahan Waste Disposal Facility [Garrahan, Corporate, Ecology]:
Garrahan wanted to expand into the chemical disposal business- for the good of the worker, they argued. These Waste Disposal Facilities would indeed go towards helping the workers- anti-automation lobbying, worker training programs, developing social programs- at the low cost of poisoning the environment. 0/150/300, COMMUNITY. Raises Toxic Waste and a random positive stat for either Garrahan or regional Workers, or a negative stat for a [Corporate] faction embracing automation.ACME Burger Factory Farm [Agriculture, ACME]:
Each factory farm took up a large amount of land, put countless ranchers out of business (which based on what you knew about the average rancher was probably for the better), and subjected countless animals to inhumane conditions, but it meant that a community would, assuming it survived, have a source of livestock and infrastructure for re-establishing agriculture. Also- cheaper burgers. 0/150, increases community AgriPreservation by two from livestock and infrastructure and Regional/Community Fast Food Nation thanks to reduced meat prices.Mama Dolce Frozen Food Factory [Industry, Agriculture, Mama Dolce]:
Mama Dolce has offer: construct frozen food factory for them. Cheap frozen meals made using cutting edge food manufacturing techniques to satisfy the belly of the american workers will surely bring great victory- and facility will be easily reconvertable into canning and refridgeration facility. 0/350, COMMUNITY. Increase community AgriPreservation by 3 and Refrigeration by 1. Increases hidden Mama Dolce stat.Garrahan Power Armor Workshop [Construction, Garrahan, Industry]:
A facility to help test power armor would ensure that models could be tested, modified, refined, and improved much quicker. It would be costly- but if built quickly, it should help the company develop a model that was at least reliable. 0/250, COMMUNITY. Increases community Power Armor Proliferation and increases Garrahan's Product Ruggedness stat due to improved power armor design. Max 1. Cost 2 Funding.Gator Farm [Augmentation, Ecology]:
Crocoborgs- one of the creations of MediCo. The technology was actually revolutionary- and easily adaptable to some of the native wildlife of the region. All it would take would be a source of alligators. 0/150/300, each phase grants +1 Facility Security to Team America from Robogators, Phase Two grants +1 Cyborg Proliferation to community from gator augmetics lab.Project CROWN Pt 1 [Expedition, Industry, Combat]:
This was a risk- but the DoP simply didn't have the industrial or economic productivity to accomplish all it's goals. The solution? Well- Paris. In the decades before the resource wars the city had been increasingly industrialized- only to be effectively abandoned after. Some of that infrastructure might be intact- and seizable. DC 150, gain Paris (+150) [Industry, Logistics, Team America] Special Community Card- does not count towards mandates, but development will raise Team America stats or grant Team America dice.OLD
DoP Extracurricular Program [Education]:
The Better Think initiative was pushing for increased extracurricular programs: on paper, to improve educational quality and prepare for future crises. In reality, it was mostly a cynical excuse to let them remodel schools to include hardened construction and bunkers. 0/200, raises Duck and Cover. Repeatable: cost 1 Funding. Gain +1 [Education] dice.DaisyTech Bio-Lab [Genetics, Prototype, Daisy]:
DaisyTech wanted to create a small biotech research lab somewhere. They couldn't afford more than one lab at this time, so if you build this, you'll need to think carefully about where. 0/500, SELECT COMMUNITY. Community gains +3 to its Research Value stat increasing the odds it will develop advanced technology post-apocalypse, and you gain +2 to [Genetics] projects. Can only be built once.ENFERR Mainframe [Programming, Construction]:
AlviCorp was experimenting with a assistant AI- ENFERR. You forget what the acronym meant- anyways, they were still working on it. At the moment, it was only running on a supercomputer up in Denver. AlviCorp wanted to expand the AI's coverage by creating a second mainframe in Lousiana connected via underground cabling. This would expand ENFERR's processing abilities considerably. 0/300. We should, uh, probably keep this one quiet from the Director, Edgar. Anyways, if you do this, I'll owe you one, buddy: 10 influence and a permanent +2 to [Robotics] projects! Plus, it'll unlock a project to upgrade communities with local nodes on the ENFERR-Net in your Agent category!Supply Depot Warehouse [Logistics, Construction]: The bread and butter of the department: these warehouses stored massive quantities of material shipped from various DoP factories for use in case of nuclear armageddon. 0/100/200/300, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increase General Supply stat: third rank increases additional community specific stat.
Department Motor Pool Phase Two [Logistics, Administration]:
The Garage in New Orleans was very handy to have, since it meant your people had vehicles on demand. But the motor pool could be improved: you still had one area you were less than self sufficient on. Shipping and transport. The main garage could be expanded with further storage and maintenance facilities for semi-trucks, an air-strip for small planes, and docks for boats, both smaller vessels and cargo ships. 60/200, increase Departmental Mobilization. Unlocks DoP Docks and DoP Airstrips. Cost 1 Funding to complete each rank.Fortified House of Worship [Population, Construction]: For once, the justification for this one isn't wholly propaganda: analysis indicated that when the bombs drop, churches and other holy houses were likely to be the first place civilians without any substantive options are likely to flee. By reinforcing one of these sites to be bomb-proof, it would significantly raise the odds of survivors in the community. 0/200/600, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Divine Sanctuary stat.
Power Peanut Plantation [GWCFAAAT, Agriculture]:
Power Peanuts were a very experimental development by the George Washington Carver foundation (with Department assistance): they were a 100% renewable source of electrical energy, albeit one that was somewhat inefficient compared to nuclear or even fossil fuels: thankfully, the market was always looking for more sources of energy. 0/200/400, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Renewable Energy Stat. Each phase increases funding by 1.AutoMenagerie Complex [Ecology, Genetics]:
The department was planning to construct one in the next few years: why not get a head start? Having a functional AutoMenagerie would be vital for restoring life to the wetlands. 377/500. Gain Louisiana AutoMenagerie Community Card.Department of Preservation Factory [Construction, DoP]:
The Department was always looking to expand production. If you could build a few of these factories, put them to producing various goods the Department was looking to stockpile, you could kill several birds with one stone, employing large amounts of that community, producing material for the DoP, and earning yourself a few brownie points. Problem was, it would be PRICEY. 0/150/300. SELECT COMMUNITY. Community gains DoP Employment. Second phase grants additional DoP Goodwill. Gain 10 Influence and increase [Construction]'s bonus by +1. Cost 3 Funding per phase.Weather Monitoring Station [Ecology, Government]:
The NOAA's creation: these facilities would monitor weather and oncoming storms and were networked in order to help predict storms and perform meteorology based research. 0/200. SELECT COMMUNITY. Each Community contributes to regional Stormwatch stat.DoP Clinic [Chems, DoP]:
It would be very expensive, but equipping a community with a fully staffed and stocked clinic and hiring doctors to man it would be a good way to improve health both in that community, but also the wider region should the community survive. 0/150/300. SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases DoP Goodwill and Community Health. Second phase gains [Genetics] tag and Novel Gene Therapies stat. Each phase costs 2 Funding.Landgrab [Real Estate, Economy, Population]:
The state was only just pulling out of its economic slump thanks to corporate investment, and currently there were a large amount of open properties just looking to be snatched up and developed. 0/150, SELECT COMMUNITY. Unlock additional projects.Advanced Cererium [Robotics, Agriculture]: You had a CERES to help manage agricultural facilities in a community: however, that CERES had limited facilities of its own to work with. By installing an underground bunker filled with backup-mainframes and whatever the CERES unit requested, the AI's productivity could be fully harnessed. 0/400, Select Community Card with CERES. Upgrade CERES by increasing it's primary stat bonus to all agricultural tagged infrastructure.
DoP Public Housing [DoP, Population, Real Estate]: This was a terrible idea: as practical as it would be for the social good as a whole, it would call an unacceptable amount of heat on yourself. You could perhaps swing it with a scape-goat, but then you'd have real estate tycoons and anti-communist crusaders constantly hanging it over your head. 0/150, Community. Increases DoP Goodwill. Medium suspicion DC. Cost 3 Funding. Cost 5 Influence.
DoP Garage [DoP, Logistics, Construction]:
A deal with Red Rocket and your own supply of vehicles meant that your agents effective coverage area had increased, but hurdling one logistical issue presented you with another one: you only had one facility to actually service your vehicles beyond charging the battery. By constructing additional DoP garages, cars wouldn't have to go all the way back to New Orleans for a tune up, repair, or storage. If the community had abundant power, these facilities could even help service civilian vehicles. 0/150, increases DoP Mobilization and Motor Service in a community. Cost 1 Funding.=====
SCIENCE
1 Dice, +7 Bonus
Ultracite Research Phase One [Energy, Prototype]:
Ultracite- the brand new sensation in energy generation and psychic manipulation. You only had so much of this to study until you managed to develop a source for the stuff- but the results would probably be worth it. Each Phase is 300 points progress. Max phase is equal to 1+Team America Ultracite Proliferation. Unlock increasingly refined Ultracite technology.Garrahan Power Armor Modules [Power Armor, Energy, Industry]:
Garrahan wanted a bunch of things for their power armor. Their representative had dozens of ideas for ways you could improve their systems- but if they wanted to win, they really only needed about four. The first, an auto-injector filled with a blend of boosted stimulants to provide them enough stamina to outwork a literal machine, second, a built in cable-powered mining laser in order to extract ore quickly, third, a sensor suite capable of telling them where to mine, and four, a life support unit that could both extract and recycle waste and feed the occupant a power pill every so often. 0/150/300. Each phase raises Garrahan's Productivity by providing various improvements to the Excavator Power Armor.C-Files Ghost Containment Lab [Weird, Energy]:
Phoebus had a favor- he wanted you to discreetly see about constructing a laboratory up somewhere in the state to begin quietly conducting research on developing and deploying the technology to locate, capture, and contain incorporeal supernatural and paranatural entities. In other words, a ghost lab. 0/250/400/800, COMMUNITY. Increases community Tales of Terror and raises C-Files Paratech Proliferation each phase. WARNING: Building this will trigger a count-down to the event 'GHOST STORM'. Max 1.Backup Organic Processing Unit [Science, Programming, Augmentation]:
Another bit of classic MediCo horrors against science, this particular project had been intended to increase the intelligence of their Crocoborgs and other cyborgimals by networking together multiple brains to form a larger wetware processing unit. They had managed to successfully wire together two brains, creating highly intelligent cyborg security units- but it appeared the complexity of networking together multiple of these organic processing units increased exponentially. 0/400/1600, each phase grants a science die and grants improved Wetware Implant Technology, increasing Team America's Brain PowerJourney to the Sapele Island [Expedition, Weird]: Located off the coast of Africa, this island had once been a major trade port during the early 20th century, only to find itself occupied in Nazis during the second world war, and depopulated during the resource wars and new plague. Pembroke believes that the island contains some sort of research facility established by the obscure nazi fraternity known as the Brotherhood of Ubar- to research stolen paranatural artifacts of incomprehensible power! DC 150, gain unknown quality artefact granting (at minimum) Buried Knowledge to C-Files. Potential to gain Paratech Proliferation.
OLD
Project Titan Killer [Ecology, Energy, NOAA]: You had been ordered to conduct special high energy tests using nuclear warheads to research the viability of destroying hurricanes with atom bombs. This was an insane idea. Even testing it would be disastrous. God, what the hell? DC 150, can only be performed Q2. Increases Atmospheric Irradiation. Increases influence by 10. Massively increases wrath. Repeatable three times.
NEXT Tec [Investigation, Prototype, NEXT]:
NEXT's attacks had one benefit: their technology was easier to acquire. You'd have to step on some toes, but you should be able to requisition captured examples of the organizations gear and weaponry and reverse engineer them for your own use. DC 150, gain access to random NEXT Technology. Increases Influence by 5. High suspicion.Power Peanut Genome Sequencing [Power, Genetics, GWCFAAAT]:
Power Peanuts were fascinating: while the design had been refined by department labs, the George Carver foundation were no slouches either when it came to genetics. It might behoove you to try analyzing their genome: at the very least, you could send the science division and the foundation your notes. 0/250, unlock Power Peanut Genetic Template, speeding up national Power Nut research and increasing influence by 2.Construct CERES Unit [Construction, Robotics]: The general term for the DoP's standardized model of AI manager, intended for inclusion in agricultural facilities. By upgrading a facility with one, its overall output would increase by a fair amount. 0/150, SELECT COMMUNITY WITH AGRICULTURAL INFRASTRUCTURE. Agriculture tagged infrastructure gains primary stat increase, along with an infrastructure-dependent secondary stat.
Community Data Cache [Construction, Education]:
The Data Cache model of knowledge retention infrastructure had been selected by top DoP analysts as the optimal means by which institutional knowledge could be preserved in the region. 0/150/300/600, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Buried Knowledge stat.TAPP Analysis [Government, Education]:
One of the worst things your sister had ever done: countless people had been thrown into jail. The actual criteria it worked to determine who was a 'true american patriot' and who was a 'godless red in waiting' was a black box: if you could figure out how the algorithm worked, however, you might be able to game it to help people avoid falling afoul of it. 55/300, gain TAPP Manipulation projects. Massively increases Wrath.Garden of Eden Sanctuary [Ecology, Charity]:
If you could scrape together the funding, you might be able to help support one of the various communities in the state while also preserving endangered wildlife from around the globe via financing a sanctuary. 0/200/400. SELECT COMMUNITY. Increase Biodiversity Preservation stat and a community dependent secondary stat. Cost 1 Funding to complete each phase.Community Seed Vault [Ecology, Agriculture, Construction]:
After the bombs dropped, it was likely numerous species of plant would go extinct: by establishing a series of seed vaults, this could be prevented. Obviously the priority would go to more human useful cultivars, but some wild flora would be preserved if conditions permitted. 0/400/800. SELECT COMMUNITY. Increase AgriPreservation stat. Second phase also increases Biodiversity Preservation stat.Off The Shelf Bio-Optimizer [Genetics, Research]:
The good news was, you had free access to the science behind the Optimizer, to the point you could easily manufacture it yourself if you had the facilities. That wasn't remotely likely, unfortunately: that would cost an incredible exorbitant amount. You might, however, be able to settle for a home manufactured version. 0/150, Edgar begins producing and distributing in secret Bio-Optimizer. Costs 1 Funding. Medium Suspicion.Clone Lab [Genetics, Ecology]: It would have to be on your own dime, and it would be very off the books, but a clone lab would let you reproduce any animal whose genetic template you had access to, including but not limited to gorillas. 0/500/1000, SELECT COMMUNITY. Community gains +1 BioDiversity.
Elephant DNA Library [Genetics, Ecology]:
Another large animal, whereas there were a few other labs working on bringing back gorillas, there were no such initiatives for elephants. This would likely be a difficult task. 0/500, gain Elephant DNA Library, increasing Clone Lab BioDiversity via the Elephant Genetic Template.Misc Ape DNA Library [Genetics, Ecology]:
…Well, there were a few more species of extinct ape you could bring back. Orangutans, for instance. And the ones that weren't extinct were unlikely to survive the bombs or were already endangered to begin with. 0/250, Repeatable, Select Community with cloning lab. Each iteration of this project increases the communities Planet of the Apes.Mothman DNA Library [Weird, Genetics]:
Apparently Mothman was real. Clancy had managed to obtain a corpse and had a few live specimens: she wanted you to look into their biology. This would also, unbeknownst to her, the opportunity to see if you can clone a cryptid… 0/250, grants Mothman Genetic Template and increases Clone Lab Tales of the Uncanny stat and raises influence by 2.Toxitato Atomiplant [Genetics, Agriculture]:
There had been a little research into radiotrophic plants, and while no one was there yet, it did give you an idea: with a little modification, you might be able to engineer a species of potato designed to help reduce the severity of toxic chemicals and other pollutants in the soil. 0/250, upgrades Atomicrops template, increasing the Seed Vaults Soil Purity stat.Atomibugs [Genetics, Ecology]:
Now, the atomipollinators idea, that was a good idea. If you took the time to apply the same modification to local species such as millipedes, moths, mosquitos, and local pollinators, you'd increase their odds of survival considerably and significantly reduce the impact of insect death in the region! 0/75, unlocks Atomibugs Template, increasing insect survival in the region and unlocking Advanced Entomology projects in all categories.Laser Balloon Testing [Prototype, Ecology, Energy, Daisy]: Daisy was experimenting with a new technology: extremely light-weight and cheap lasers that could be added to swarms of remotely piloted weather balloons. It was, to be frank, a highly dubiously effective technology: the idea was that the balloons would serve as yet another method by which nukes could be shot down. Still, if the technology was successful, it would be trivially easy to modify existing and future weather facilities with, and even a little more coverage could be the difference between total or merely partial annihilation. 186/250, upgrades Weather Monitoring Stations with Laser Balloon Technology, increasing Community Clear Skies.
Hover-Brain Insurance [Personel, Robotics, Augmentation, AlviCorp]:
Hover-Brains were a model of cyborg AlviCorp had developed- civilian, unlike the model the military was working on, and intended to be used on those suffering from terminal illnesses or hideously lethal injuries looking to survive. They were partially based on Eyebot designs, opting for a spherical shape. A brief perusal of the schematics didn't show anything untoward: AlviCorp had a perfectly workable, non-evil (at least in abstract) design, they just didn't have anyone who wanted to buy them. It would be expensive, but it'd be a pretty useful upgrade to the insurance package to have emergency Hover-Brain installation added to your employees healthcare coverage. 0/150, Department gains Hover-Brain insurance, giving +4 to [Personnel] projects. Cost 2 Funding.GLOO-Bots [Robotics, Prototype]:
AlviCorp was working on getting their PolyGel manufacturing set up- for now, they were interested in looking for alternate applications. A combat robot designed for non-lethal disabling of hostiles wouldn't sell all that well, but your security would no doubt appreciate it. 0/150, AlviCorp Robot Factories upgraded to increase Facility Security in community.Deep Sea Atomiplants [Ecology, Genetics]:
It was admittedly a bit of a gambit and unlikely to benefit anyone directly for a very, VERY long time, but with some effort you might be able to begin modifying various deep sea plant life in the gulf to benefit from the atomiplant modifications. 0/500, increases Deep Gulf Biodiversity.Private Lab [Corporate, Construction, Faction, [Charity-Temporary]]: A private research lab. Built for an organization, it cost a pretty penny, but it bought you goodwill with the organization, bolstered their own research efforts, and provided infrastructure that could be appropriated by whatever social or scientific apparatuses that formed post-bomb. 0/200/600. Select Community, Faction. Increases the Research Value of both. Increase DoP Goodwill of chosen faction. Second phase grants random bonus stat to both community and faction. Cost 2 Funding. Grants 3 Influence. First built grants Hubbology faction card.
Cryptid Documentation [Weird, C-Files, Special]:
The Sunken Parish had just shown you two more paranatural anomalies. More would no doubt emerge. You could help butter up the C-Files division by helping them perform in-depth research on their captured critters to help understand how they tick- that you could then use this information for less scrupulous means was a side benefit. 0/150, Select Cryptid. Can use dice associated with Cryptid. Complete to increase influence by 4 and unlock a Cryptids template, unlocking or upgrading various projects depending on chosen cryptid and providing specific upgrades to the C-Files faction card. Complete once to unlock C-Files faction card.Quarantine Procedure [Genetics, Investigation, Disaster]:
Sometimes a community might find itself subject to a horrific plague, or biohazardous contamination. When this happens, the correct course of action was to quarantine that community and begin investigating spread. If there are those affected, begin using medicine. DC 100, Community. Enact quarantine procedures on Biohazard related disasters, limiting further spread and tracking down potential breaches. Complete enough times to render that community non-hazardous and remove disaster side effects.====
Outreach
0 Dice, +5 Bonus
Mama Dolce Fisheries [Agriculture, Ecology, Mama Dolce]:
Mama Dolce was interested in selling seafood- cajun fare such as catfish and rice over soy sauce. Would help feed red blooded american blue collar workers- rice and fish significantly more healthy than hamburger and pancake. Facility would also need expensive water filtration technology to operate- good for maintaining fishing grounds after bomb! 0/350, COMMUNITY. Increases AgriPreservation, Hunting Grounds, and Water Purity. Raises unknown Mama Dolce stat.DaisyTech Bulk Ordering Phase One [Robotics, DaisyTech, Industry]:
It would take a few months before Daisy was ready to roll out it's first Robomonkey Model, and per the various contracts you had you'd get a certain amount regardless…but it might be a good idea to set aside some funds to increase how many Team America would be purchasing in order to help secure various protected sanctuaries and ecological preservation sites. 0/350, increases Team America Biodiversity and Planet of the Apes. Cost 1 Funding.POLYDAX Mainframe Factory [Programming, Robotics, Team America]: The DAX line of supercomputers were grotesquely out of date- and despite this, their being so out of date provided a few advantages. The first and most obvious- refining the machines to use more advanced technology. No more room sized vacuum tubes- using the techniques the australians developed and microtube technology, an entire DAX could easily be designed to fit into a garage, an attic, basement, or even a shed. The other? Well. Transistorized electronics were expensive- only a handful of corporations outside the DoP mass manufactured them. Microtubes were cheap, however- cheap enough to get a DAX into the home of every Bourgoise middle classer who still had disposable income, at least. 0/150, community gains POLYDAX Mainframe Factory, increasing region Home of the Future and Community Employment. First 3 free- after, Funding goes by 1 per factory built.
Climbing Mount Sheol [Expedition, Corporate, Media]:
Located not far from the north pole, Mount Sheol had only been climbed once successfully in recorded history, in the 1980's by Duke Reiner- who had claimed, delirious and near frozen, that there had been a tunnel near the mountains peak that his partner, who would never return from the ascent, had climbed into. 0/200, successfully climb Mount Sheol, 1D30 Influence+???OLD
Community Broadcast Tower [Education, Media]: Radio, then television. These facilities would play on loop various Department created materials, largely a mix of patriotic reaffirmations and edutainment material aimed at both adults and children. 0/200/400, SELECT COMMUNITY, increase Public Preparedness stat. Costs 1 Funding to complete second phase.
Local Philanthropy [Charity, Government]:
Firefighters, hospitals, public transportation and other services were generally deeply underfunded. By contributing to their finances, it would both help that community develop important infrastructure to help weather disaster, as well as buy some local good-will for the department in that community. 0/100/200, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Team America Goodwill and Responder Preparedness stat. Cost 1 Funding to complete each phase. +Wrath. TAX WRITE OFF APPLIED, FIRST IS FREE.DoP Disaster Training and Response Facility [Education, Personel]:
The civilian disaster preparedness program was a new initiative by the DoP: they wanted to start training populations in various methods that can be used in case of disaster to survive. 0/200, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Responder Preparedness. Cost 1 Funding per phase.Co-Op Garden [Agriculture, Population]: Anyone who seriously thought co-ops were the herald of socialism were idiots. Despite the stigma, however, they did serve a purpose: the most obvious was reducing food insecurity and self sufficiency for a community, but more important was helping that community start building the institutional knowledge required for rebuilding agriculture should civilization collapse and supply lines disintegrate. 0/100/200, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases AgriPreservation stat. Modest Suspicion.
Luxury Bunkers [Population, Construction, Liberty Party]: Funding was hard to come by, but one way it could be obtained? Earning Donors by constructing various Liberty Party officials and other wealthy individuals their own private, DoP maintained bunkers. Sure, it would be helping some of the worst people avoid the fate they have so richly earned, but the funding would be worth it. 0/150/300, increase funding by 2 per phase. ++Wrath Gain.
Targeted ACME Loans [Population, ACME, Finance]: This wouldn't save anyone. Not on its own: the infrastructure developed might help someone at some point, but the effect would be marginal compared to other, more efficient tactics. The only benefit this gave was money.
0/100/200/???, SELECT COMMUNITY. Infinite phases, every phase increases a random stat. Every two phases, gain +1 Funding. +Wrath.Lil Patriots Orphanage [Construction, Education]
The orphans of today were the patriots of tomorrow! The Patriot Party wanted to help preserve the future of America by constructing a military orphanage for the children of veterans who had perished in the line of duty, and help prepare these sons and daughters of heroes to follow in their parents footsteps, no doubt as they would have wanted, teaching them patriotism, honor, god, and american values as well as useful skills such as marksmanship, wilderness survival, community reaffirmation of principles, and discipline while providing them food, shelter, and other basic needs. 0/100/200/300. SELECT COMMUNITY. Each rank increases Youth Mobilization by 2. Unfathomable Wrath gain.Community Subsidized School Meals [Charity, Education]: Oh Edgar. Why am I not surprised? The good news is, this project is incredibly doable if you're willing to settle for power pills, whose effects on a growing body haven't been measured yet. Real food is a little harder, but if you're willing to pay for it, go right ahead! This isn't likely to help anyone though, Edgar, not in the long term. 0/150/300, Select Community. Increases DoP Goodwill. Second phase increases Nutrition stat.
Community Restoration Program [Charity, Ecology, Disaster]: Occasionally, communities were likely to be damaged by fires, storms, etc. It was technically FEMA's job to help these places repair themselves, but frankly if the DoP didn't step in it was very likely these communities would never actually recover. 0/50, select Community Card with a natural disaster triggered negative status condition. Gain progress to erasing status condition. Repeatable. Sufficient overflow will be reassigned to a different community project.
DoP Publishing [Media, Education]:
It might be prudent to follow Wilbur's advice and start looking into expanding propaganda. You wouldn't be able to do anything too risque, but you could at least begin priming people through monthly magazines and weekly newspapers to be more susceptible to your more intense programming. 0/200, create Team America Publishing House, increasing DoP Goodwill nationwide and unlocking additional Publishing [Media] projects for both the DoP and Wright Entertainment, both region-wide and community specific. Increases influence by 5.Sky-Watch Club [Programming, Education, Prototype]:
Unfortunately, there just wasn't much you could do to fulfil Wilbur's request right now: there was no way the DoP would let you build a laser tower without a great deal of work. Your only idea other than the laser balloons was using DoP outreach assets to start cultivating clubs of civilian 'sky-watchers' who could help track potential missiles and other objects using advanced software. 0/250, Team America upgraded to increase regional Clear Skies. Cost 2 Funding.Community Scholarship Program [Education, Charity]: If you wanted to help stimulate a town, one way to do so would be setting up a program to help get them a free ride to attend secondary education: ACME U, to begin with, though with further investment you might be able to get any gifted students into CUL. 0/150/300, SELECT COMMUNITY. Grants Academics. First phase free, second phase costs 1 Funding. Increases Influence by 7 per Phase.
Sponsorship Hunting [Corporate, Government]:
You'd need more sponsorships, and soon. Unfortunately, this means going out and networking: you didn't have the same star-power the DoP had. 0/50, gain 1 Sponsorship. Repeatable: every incomplete sponsorship doubles required progress. Overflow between repeats does not carry over.AlviCorp Community Development Program [Charity, Education, AlviCorp]:
AlviCorp was a proud partner of the US Government, and would be perfectly happy working alongside the DoP to use their wealth to help enrich the public. 0/150, SELECT COMMUNITY. AlviCorp invests in chosen community, raising a random stat. Repeatable. Every two phases, gain +1 [AlviCorp] Dice.DoP Investment [Finance, Liberty Party, Faction]:
A funding injection when paired with a firm expectation of results and extensive oversight would allow organizations to expand operations. Potentially less efficient than doing it yourself, but at the same time it would be fairly marginal effort. DC 50, SELECT FACTION. Must use at least 1 dice associated with the faction. Increases random faction stat. Costs 1 Funding.=====
MISCHIEF

NEW/UPDATED
Dissolve the Police Pt 2 [Crime, Combat, Chems]:
A very simple, very immediate way to handle the increasing militarization of police was to abolish them from life via chemical weaponry. This also worked on the national guard, cops without tanks, and assorted other security forces. DC 200/200+Faction Modifier, Select Community. If DC is successfully passed reduce a communities police militarization by 1. If no police militarization is possessed, instead lower the faction penetration of Police and other hostile factions.Tech Theft [Combat, Prototype, Science]:
Why research yourself what you can steal? Build a few labs, invest in a few research programs, hire a few bright sparks- then all you had to do was wait. Once they have something worthwhile- take it. DC 100+Modifier, select any community or faction with Research Value. Success will grant RADICAL special technology.Breaking the Bank Pt 2 [Crime, Finance]:
It wasn't just about the funding- now that you were starting to inch ever closer to self-sufficiency, it was time to begin considering one of the first major goals possessed by any serious any communist insurrection: wealth redistribution. DC 150, select community and allied or neutral faction. If successful, generate 2 points of Financial Unrest and 2 points of Funding and grant 1 Wealth to chosen faction.Raiding the Warchest Pt 2 [Crime, Finance]:
Theft was such a mean word- besides, half of the organizations you intended to target made their bones on theft anyways, so really what you were doing was seizing ill-gotten gains. DC 200, SELECT FACTION. Reduces factions Funding, lowering a finance related stat. If the organization has no finance related stats, increases financial unstability. Increase Funding and RADICAL Wealth by 1, allowing allied supervillains more resources to pursue RADICAL's goals.Wrath of the Warbot Pt 1 [Robotics, Combat, Prototype]: If you wanted to deploy a warbot, you needed to start replicating it's systems and designing either work-arounds or upgrades. This would likely be a multi-step project. 0/250, on completion trigger mini-vote on design of RADICAL's first prototype, increasing Warbot Proliferation for the Doomsday Retreat.
Villainization Research [Tag, Edgar, RADICAL, Special]:
Now that you weren't riding the high of the Ultra-Amplifier, you had to develop new maladapt templates the hard way: trial and error, potentially unethical research, and good old fashioned practice. 0/100, requires at least 1 Edgar Dice per turn as well as any single other category of dice. Grants that categories Maladapt Template- and recruits the first example of that maladapt into RADICAL.Wright Technology Toy Factory [Prototype, Industry, Construction, Robotics]:
Another way to make mischief would be to make toys: on the surface, they'd be normal little gewgaws for children to play with, but in reality these toys would contain a variety of devices to help them raise mischief and trouble, including RADICAL brand build-em-yourself robo-pet toykits! 28/250, gain Toy Factory, unlocking Wright Toy Store outlets, which raise Teenage Wasteland and Rise of the Robots.Inflict Maladapt [RADICAL, Weird, Tag]:
Maladapts opened up a new strategy to hurt and strengthen your enemies: deliberately orchestrate the conditions required for someone who has a grudge to become a Maladapt of a specific kind. 0/150+100 for every additional template used, FACTION/COMMUNITY. Select at least one template: create maladapt(s) using chosen templates.RADICAL Internationale [Expedition, Finance, Government]:
This was going to be a bit of a challenge- but if RADICAL could successfully secure a meeting with one of the few remaining world governments, you might not only secure a source of funding for RADICAL, but you might be able to change the entire course of the war. DC 750, repeatable, increases RADICAL Wealth and Rise of the Reds by securing international support and convincing neutral nations to act in opposition to American Hegemony.Hypnotic Broadcast Reels [Education, Media]:
Your way of fighting back against indoctrination: a series of animations you had created that could be utilized alongside very special hypnotic technology to spread values and encourage action, all managed by a VRXT-X-1000 to help spread pro-RADICAL propaganda. You'd need to arrange for timeslots on local channels, your own or otherwise, and each episode needed to be very carefully designed. 0/150, SELECT COMMUNITY, must have Youth Mobilization: airing HBR's will reduce Youth Mobilization to increase Teenage Wasteland. Increases Wright Technologies Goodwill.Under the Table Dealings [Crime, Logistics, Faction]:
Of course, the idea of supplying an organization via smugglers was a fairly multi-purpose one. There were a variety of groups that could benefit from having access to Reznikov goods and stolen laboratory equipment: you might even be able to make a profit, depending- and your allies would certainly benefit from the technology. 0/200, SELECT FACTION. Faction gains Black Market Connections, Wright Technologies Goodwill, and Research Value. Chance to gain Funding depending on factions financial status. Each phase gives faction a permanent -1 Discount to the funding costs of all Private Labs. The Louisiana Axe-Slasher [Combat, Multifaction]: Vigilante action was perhaps a little beneath you, and so was axe-murder, but nonetheless there were plenty of people in the state who deserved thirty thwacks, and once you did it enough it WOULD send a message. 0/200, increase Faction Regional Terror. Must complete using a Faction Dice: can target specific factions.
RobCo A-No No! [Robotics, RobCo]:
RobCo could eat a dick. House and his company were going to stay FAR, FAR away from this state, and you knew just how to accomplish it: a series of well timed violent product failures against regional representatives of the company. 94/100, repeatable. Somewhat decreases RobCo faction penetration: sufficiently lower it to force the faction out of the region. Complete once to unlock RobCo faction card. FIRST PHASE AUTOCOMPLETES THIS TURN.Criminal Finance [Charity, Crime]: Crime wasn't a growing industry, but it could be! You'd need to investigate into a town first, but once you did, you could use the information to begin financing the operations of various ne'erdowells of note. 0/150, SELECT COMMUNITY. Must have Underside Intel: spend it to generate Villainous Unrest. Cost 2 Funding.
Atomiplants Attack! [Genetics, Prototype]:
Venus fly-traps. Grass stickers. Stinging nettles, poison ivy. Some species of witch nettle. There were all sorts of ways one could manipulate floral genetics: with the information that the Atomicrops program had discovered, and your own notes, you could go one step further. You could create weapons. Ones capable of helping you achieve your still nebulously defined goals while simultaneously surviving to repopulate various niches once the bombs dropped, assuming conditions were right. 0/150, Repeatable. Every repetition of this unlocks an additional technology [Gear, Personnel, or Prototype] that raises regional Biodiversity and a random secondary stat.Dissolve the Police [Crime, Combat, Chems]:
A very simple, very immediate way to handle the increasing militarization of police was to abolish them from life via chemical weaponry. DC 150, Select Community. If DC is successfully passed reduce a communities police militarization by 1.Breaking the Bank [Crime, Economics]:
You needed money. The bank has money. The bank has a lot of money. Money you could take and use to fund things without having to resort to things like Lil Patriots. DC 100, select community. If successful, generate 3 points of Financial Unrest and 3 points of Funding.Chaos Science Mayhem Lecture [Education]:
If you laid the ground-work first, and put the effort in, you could use the centers of Education to help formulate chaos: a few well planned lectures at the locations of learning, some small revisions to their course-work, a few minor changes to policy to encourage a certain sort of misbehavior, and their students could be convinced to use their educations a little more…creatively. DC 250, select community with [Education] tagged infrastructure. One random piece of appropriate infrastructure will be upgraded on success, granting it an infrastructure dependent [Mischief] associated bonus stat. I'd suggest getting yourself as pissed off as possible before trying this one, Edgar. The good news is, it'll give you the ability to prepare for it for it and make it spectacular.HYPNO!¡! [Chems, Weird]: Feelgood didn't entirely groove with the mind control, but he saw the uses. A somewhat more subtle way to increase the utility: branch out to adults with a drug that could be distributed to the populace- knowingly or unknowingly- that would give its users a fantastic pep and unknowingly make them far more susceptible to your propaganda. 0/150, SELECT COMMUNITY. Spread HYPNO, increasing funding, DoP Goodwill, and Wright Technologies Goodwill by 1 and influence by 3.
Wright Botany GigaGardener Kits [Chems, Prototype, Agriculture]:
It took months for a Buddytrap to grow large enough to collectively threaten a grown adult: even then, monitoring indicated the human would usually kill a fair amount before succumbing to their injuries. Your bulbs had the same general problem: they took too long to cultivate to adequacy. Thankfully, the Department had access to the holy grail of agriculture: GigaGro. You'd requisition the formula, start developing a few tweaks, and then you'd add it to Wright Botanys catelogue. 0/250, +2 to [Agriculture] projects, +1 to [Mischief] bonus. Increases AtomiPlant Attacks secondary stat by 1.Reznikov Safehouse [Crime, Security]: The Reznikov's had extensive territory in Baton Rouge. Other cities, not so much: if you could establish some safehouses they could use, they could start conducting operations in other cities, allowing you to begin expanding their presence. 0/100, SELECT COMMUNITY. Increases Reznikov faction penetration.
Reznikov Surplus [Crime, Security, Personnel]: T
he Reznikov's were smugglers. Illicit chems, banned literature, exotic animals, and military surplus. Their products were dangerous, highly suspicious, and also extremely useful. Now that they worked with you, you could theoretically spend a little extra money integrating them into your day jobs logistics, helping supply the organization with all sorts of useful (if less than legal) resources. 0/150, increases Team America's Black Market Connections and Departmental Mobilization and raises Reznikov's DoP Goodwill. Cost 1 Funding.=====
And we are BACK, baby! Couple days moratorium- both so I can detox and people can start designing plans. There are probably more than a few errors in this update, but at this point I'm just happy to have this finally published. That said, definitely gonna need to detox for a bit after this.
